Trip Inn PostHotel Düren

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice now and have been very pleased with the service. The rooms are spacious and clean, and everyone from reception and the restaurant to the maids is kind and attentive to making the stay pleasant. Breakfast has plenty of tasty options. Parking is secure and reasonably priced. I’ll gladly return!

The location is central and close to the train station, and reception staff were friendly. For 9 euros per 24 hours, there’s private parking, covered or uncovered. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and the water was just right for a hot bath. Coffee at breakfast was very good, though the continental spread was nothing special. The furniture was old, but that didn’t matter to me. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the sleeping pillow was bad. Loud crows woke me through the windows. For one night, it was okay.

Getting here is easy, with the train station within walking distance, but the service and room were poor. At check-in the staff weren’t unfriendly, but barely spoke unless they had to. They gave me the usual form to fill in missing guest details, which was fine, but it also included lots of legal language and extra terms that are void in Germany. When I asked about it, they said I could sign or leave without a refund. Ridiculous. The room was tiny and nothing like the same-category rooms shown on the website and booking sites. The floor and table were dirty, with sawdust on the table, and later we found more dirt on the bed beneath the decorative blanket. The wifi was almost unusable, and cellphone reception in our room was so weak that I had to go into the hallway to get messages. The TV was barely bigger than my laptop screen and wasn’t plugged into the power socket. I’ll never stay there again. Luckily, Düren has plenty of other hotels.

The location is good, very central and close to the main station. The room was okay, and they provide free water, but there was no bottle opener 🤭. The WC flush was broken.
