Hotel Dusseldorf Mitte

This is one of my favorite hotels in NRW, with good restaurants all around and a great location. It’s clean, and the beds are better than you might expect for the price. I don’t usually order breakfast, just a cappuccino in the morning, and the one they make at the reception/bar is actually pretty good. The staff are friendly and understand what business travelers need. Thanks especially to Andrea and Ulrike for booking the right room for me and giving me a laugh in the morning.

The staff were very friendly, and the cozy room was in a central spot, about five minutes from a nice parking garage and the Main Railway Station. Check-in and checkout online were handy, and you can use your phone to open the doors instead of a key. My girlfriend’s iPhone worked fine, but my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra wouldn’t open the room until I restarted it and toggled Bluetooth off and on. The room was cold when we arrived because the heater was off, so we had to turn it up to maximum. Breakfast was good, though not perfect. Maybe that was because we came 20 minutes before it ended.

I come back to this hotel regularly. The staff are welcoming and friendly, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. They have either a bath or a shower, and I always pick one with a large bed. It’s right in the city center, near the train station, with a nearby market that has a great selection. I’m happy to recommend it and will definitely return.

The room was dusty and very small, and the hotel is beside a busy road. I’d booked a superior double with a bathtub, but on arrival I was told the superior double is the standard room and that none of the rooms have a bathtub. We were called to our rooms twice afterward, once at 3 am and again at 12 for checkout, even though we had late checkout until 2pm. The experience, quality, and price were all bad. We told the receptionist our complaints, but they did nothing.
