Hotel Wurms

We came from the USA for the K Show in October and would gladly return. The hotel was clean and well located near the rail station. Breakfast was varied and neatly served, and the staff were friendly and helpful, with excellent restaurant recommendations. Good value and well worth another stay.

The room was tiny, the damp and moldy smell was unbearable, and the old furniture looked untouched since 1950. The morning receptionist was nice, though, and I loved his cartoon-like manner. The bigger problem was how the booking was handled. I missed the first two nights and only arrived for the last one. They kept almost €500, gave my room to someone else, then the receptionist demanded another hundred-something euros for the night I was there. I refused. After my long trip I had to wait by the entrance while he supposedly called the manager, and he kept insisting that keeping the payment was a service they were doing for me. He was aggressive, as if I would ever come back to that shithole. For a family hotel, guests deserve more empathy and care. I would never stay there again, even if it were the last hotel in town. I’d rather sleep at the airport or train station. I’m expecting an aggressive reply from the hotel now. Their responses already say a lot about the place.

It was clean, simple, and easy to get to, and covered the basics I need from a hotel. Comfort let it down a little: the pillows were too flat, and controlling the shower temperature was awkward because the knobs were outside the shower.

We felt very welcome here. The staff were lovely and the service was friendly, and we’d happily recommend the hotel. It’s also well connected to public transport and the main station, with plenty of good restaurants nearby. Thank you!
