Mercure Hotel Duesseldorf Zentrum

We were two adults and a 10-year-old, staying for three nights. The room was small, but it worked fine for us.

Getting to the old town was easy, under 10 minutes by public transport, and I thought the location was fine. We were upgraded to the 030 privilege room, which was lovely and quiet, though it was annoying that people in the corridors could see straight into it unless the curtains stayed closed. Breakfast felt modest to me. The service could be slow and unhelpful. I've asked several times for our invoice by email and never got it or even a reply. I also emailed the hotel before our stay and heard nothing. It was difficult to get anyone to serve us at the "bar". Otherwise, it's a good basic Mercure.

The room was clean, and both breakfast and the bar were good. Staff were friendly too. Buses to Düsseldorf central station stop right outside, run frequently, and take roughly 10 minutes. A fair price for what you get.

We really enjoyed exploring Dusseldorf. The hotel was a nice base, with other amenities and restaurants nearby, and the old town about 2 miles away with some good pubs and places to eat. We were in town for the European Championships 2024, and it was handy having several public transport options close by.
