Radisson Blu Conference Hotel, Düsseldorf

Mariela brings real warmth and care to her work. She makes guests feel welcome and valued, and regularly goes beyond what's expected. Her generosity and kindness feel sincere, and she carries herself with grace and professionalism. She isn't just a great person to have on a team, she's dependable and thoughtful, and her positive attitude and dedication lift the people around her. Any employer would be lucky to have her.

There's not much food nearby, though you can walk about a kilometre to find options. The hotel is a great quiet spot close to the river cruise lines, and it worked perfectly for the nights before and after our Düsseldorf-Amsterdam cruise. The bar was good, and the service and staff were excellent. It's also well placed for a quick trip to the airport.

The theft in the hotel restaurant was bad enough, but the response from management made the stay even more disappointing. They took no clear steps to protect guests or properly deal with what happened. I also found there were no cameras covering the restaurant's interior. Outsiders seemed able to enter the hotel and restaurant without any security checks, even though the restaurant should be for hotel guests, with names and room numbers verified. I felt unsafe throughout this very poor experience and wouldn't recommend staying here.

Breakfast was simpler than I expected, though the omelet station was a nice touch and the cook made a huge omelet for everyone. The room stayed warm with the heater off, and I could open the window to air it out. The hotel is well placed, near both the airport and downtown.
