Leonardo Royal Hotel Dusseldorf Konigsallee

The staff were professional, friendly, and well trained, and the rooms were big and comfortable. Breakfast had everything you could want. They also let us use the room at 11 am to change clothes, which I really appreciated, so I'm giving them 5 stars. We couldn't find parking at the hotel during our stay and had to park nearby and walk in the winter cold. That made the stay unpleasant. I also didn't like that the heater couldn't be turned on all the time, as I think it was on a timer, though the room temperature at night was good. Cleaning needs improvement too. I saw an insect in the room and a spider web near the ceiling. The main shopping streets are very close, with Zara about 7 minutes away. The old town is an 18 minute walk.

The shower dripped, the fixtures were dirty and cracked, and the room hadn't been cleaned properly. There was no functioning air conditioning. At this price, I thought a clean bed in a cool room wasn't too much to ask. A real letdown, and I hate having to leave a bad review.

The cleaning crew kept trying to come in, even after I asked them to return later in the afternoon. They were quite pushy and spoke very little German and no English. The electric window blinds also kept opening on their own. Aside from that, we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a great location and is clean and comfortable.

Sophie, the bar manager, was especially helpful. The service and food were great, and the hotel is in a wonderful spot at the end of the Ko.
