Wyndham Garden Düsseldorf City Centre Königsallee

Breakfast had a reasonable range, but it was exactly the same buffet for all seven mornings. Housekeeping wasn’t daily either. You have to book a cleaning slot with a QR code, which seems to mean they might fit you in, and my first request was ignored. The 4-star rating shown on booking sites and on the hotel entrance set expectations that the place didn’t meet. At $450 a night, those expectations were high. Check-in was decent, but the hallway led to a prehistoric elevator, and the rooms were just as dated. It feels like they care more about maximizing revenue than bringing guests back or making them happy. If I’d paid $150-$200 per night, I’d have written a very different review. For $450, this was a rip-off.

The staff were friendly, the room was quite clean, and the location really is great. Breakfast was also pretty alright. I expected worse from the reviews online, and for the money it was a decent stay. The main issue is the misleading claim that this is a 4-star hotel, since the amenities are 3-star at best. The walls are very thin too, and I could hear someone snoring in the next room at night.

I stayed four nights, from October 3rd 2025 to October 6th 2025. In room 310, the carpet was dirty, and the balcony, which the hotel team said should have been closed, was open. Cigarette butts were scattered around, with water in them after rain the day before. One part of the curtain had come off its hook. I told the front office person in the morning and was assured it would be fixed, but when I returned late that evening, nothing had been done. They were very casual about it. Overall, it wasn’t a professional approach.

I stayed four nights for K-fair, and it was my worst hotel experience. There was no room cleaning service. When I asked the receptionist, they only left extra towels and did nothing else. The photos were taken after cleaning. They didn’t even leave drinking water in the rooms. This isn’t a four-star hotel, maybe a hostel. I booked through booking.com, but the comment option was closed, so I couldn’t rate the hotel on the website.
