TM Hotel Düsseldorf

People working in the hotel steal. They took my AirPods once, and today they took a Swarovski envelope from the window.

The service didn’t feel customer-oriented, and I wouldn’t stay here if I wanted to feel comfortable on a vacation or business trip. I’ve attached a photo of the room. We arrived on Jan 31, 2023, for a standard double suite and checked in at 14:30. There was no heating or hot water. The water was lukewarm around 18:00, and only became hot enough to shower after 21:00. The heating kept malfunctioning until late evening and still didn’t warm the suite properly, so we had to shower and sleep in the cold. The suite was much smaller than the photos suggested, like a box, with barely any daylight from a small window facing the courtyard rooftops. Sound insulation was awful: every step and noise in the hallway came through. The washbasin was broken and cracked, as was the toilet. The basin drained poorly because it was clogged with hair from previous visitors. When we turned on the water, hair from the drain plug floated up. There was dust everywhere and the bathroom walls were dirty. The bed had black spots and hair, the mattress had yellow spots and hair, and the bed back wobbled. There were no bedside tables, just a small round Ikea stand that looked like it cost about 15 euros, and no bedside lamps. The suite was in terrible condition, and the website photos were most likely extremely outdated.

The room was dirty and much too warm. At 3am, while we were asleep, a hotel employee knocked and then opened the door with a key. The next morning she didn’t even apologize for waking us. Not a pleasant stay at all.

My girlfriend and I were woken by someone knocking at 3am. We thought it might be another guest at the wrong door, but a minute later we heard our door being unlocked. A hotel employee came right into the room, saw us awake, said “sorry sorry i was just checking,” and left quickly. I suspect she may have been trying to steal our stuff, though I can’t know for sure. Either way, it was outrageous, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
