The Cloud One Düsseldorf-KöBogen

We stopped in for coffee with our 8 month old son, and the staff were friendly. It was sunny, so the view was great. The place felt calm, quiet, and clean, with comfortable chairs and sofas. The music was relaxed and didn’t get loud or annoying. The coffee was okay, nothing special, but the cheesecake and brownies were delicious. The cheesecake was moist and milky without that lemony sour taste I don’t like. The brownies looked dry, but were fudgy, rich with cacao, and not too sweet. My husband and I really liked it here and will come back for afternoon coffee. 😊

The central Düsseldorf location is great, but the service was poor, and I’d strongly avoid this hotel until these basic issues are fixed. The toilet seat in my room had urine on it. I have photos, but the hotel Wi-Fi was so slow I couldn’t upload them. At check-in, the staff member repeatedly asked for my address even though it was clearly shown on the business card I’d handed over. I also had to cancel my wife’s planned arrival because the front desk person couldn’t understand that I wanted a double duvet for two people. She kept telling me that a single duvet in a double room is normal in Germany. I lived in Germany for six years some time ago and never experienced that once. Is this normal in a hotel costing more than 400 Euros a night? I also have a photo of that issue. My experience was very mixed. Trip Advisor chose not to share my review, so I’ll use Google for all future reviews.

The shower was strange, with no proper way to adjust the water pressure. It came out so forcefully that it hit the wall and splashed everywhere, flooding the bathroom. We stayed one night with two people and a dog, but I think they probably gave us a single room. It was extremely small, with a tiny bed and just one blanket, maybe around a meter long. I can’t see how two people are meant to share that, and we were cold all night. It was a very weird stay, and I wouldn’t return, especially after seeing two people given such a tiny blanket.

The staff were very friendly, and although the rooms felt a bit crowded, I had a really nice stay.
