We were given a very dirty room. The mattress smelled of sweat, there were biting insects, the bathroom had no light, the sink was clogged, and the toilet seat was broken. Nothing was fixed, and there was no service at all. The manager was rude and aggressive, and even threatened us. I have video evidence of his behavior with his security guard. We filed a complaint. A terrible experience!

The location is great, but the rooms are small, very dated, and don’t look like the pictures suggest. Our room had two single beds pushed against opposite walls, with no bedside tables or lamps. If you don’t like coffee, you’re stuck: there were no tea-making facilities in the room, and no teabags or hot water at reception.

We had a decent double room with a comfortable bed, though the pillows were a bit huge. The bathroom was clean, but some corners of the room weren’t. The view wasn’t spectacular, but one night over Christmas Eve felt just right. In the middle of the night there was a strange smell in our bathroom, probably coming from another one. The TV channels were translated into German.

There are supermarkets and lots of places to eat nearby, and the Old Town is a 15-minute walk through the shops. The room was clean and spacious, with a great shower and a fridge. It’s well placed for the train station and just a short taxi ride from the airport. In this hot weather, the rooms really need air conditioning. I’ve booked again because the location and price work so well. Highly recommend.

I booked a single room on the day I arrived, and it cost only around 34euro/night. The location is great, but this is a very old four-star hotel and the sound isolation is a joke. I couldn’t even find a do not disturb sign in the room!
