The location alone would get three stars from me, but it doesn’t make for a pleasant stay when the property isn’t cared for. We booked this holiday home every two years and loved the atmosphere on our first visit. By the second, there were already some minor maintenance problems; this year, the condition was disappointing. It had been cleaned, but upkeep was still poor. The expected kitchen equipment was inadequate and only partly replenished during our three-week stay. The garden furniture was broken and too dangerous to use. The attached photos can speak for themselves.

The online pictures gave a very different impression. I thought we’d sorted everything out when booking, including the number of people, but when we arrived they’d forgotten that we were coming with children. The beds weren’t made and there were no towels. After we asked again, the towels finally arrived around 11 pm. The poor condition was obvious straight away. I said the price was completely unjustified for the star rating. The property and living area were neglected and run-down, and it wasn’t clean. The bathroom was so disgusting that I went out to buy cleaning supplies. Since we’d travelled a long way, we stayed and tried to make the best of it. We still complained and tried to bring attention to the situation. I don’t think there was a cleaning crew. The location is good, though nobody mentioned the public toilet outside the house. Paying that much for half a roll of toilet paper and filth is outrageous. There was hair from the landlords in the toilet, and mold and dirt that looked like they’d been sitting in every corner for a week.

The location is perfect, and the house itself could be lovely, but it clearly hasn’t been looked after. We spent a long weekend there with six women in the large house with the roof terrace and wanted to leave straight away. The interior blinds were barely hanging on and couldn’t be used, while cords for the exterior blinds were broken or missing. The place was filthy: dirty dishes were in the cupboards, the bed linen smelled musty, and the beach chair was covered in dust and mold. The awning over the courtyard terrace was in the same condition. It’s hard to believe there’s a cleaning crew. The landlord refunded the final cleaning fee without comment, which suggests it hadn’t been done. Don’t trust the website photos, the house hasn’t looked like that in a long time. Such a shame, because proper upkeep could make this a great place.
