The hostess is amazing, and the accommodation gets a 10/10. If you're after the best homemade German food money can buy, this is a must!

It's 300 meters from the shores of the Danube, and they're friendly to outdoor people. They let me keep my kayak/canoe in their garage. I spent two nights at this hotel/guesthouse in Dettingen. Breakfast was excellent. I didn't eat at the restaurant: it was closed one day, and the other day I was craving fast food instead of slow food.

The kitchen was run by an expert chef working solo for 35 people, and he was very friendly. The train goes below your window, though it stops at night. A chemical factory next door releases heavy smoke. Luckily, while I was there, the wind blew the other way.

The service and rooms were OK, but the nearby railway line made it hard for me to sleep well.

The hosts were friendly, the food was great, and the room was clean, tidy, and spacious.
