Hotel und Restaurant die Burg

We went to the mega party on April 11th, and this is only about the venue. The food was a bright spot: the schnitzel sandwiches were delicious, and the food in general was very good. We eat at the restaurant now and then and always enjoy it, but the facilities need investment. The restrooms were in bad shape. New toilet seats are needed, and the sinks had holes patched over that still weren’t watertight. Some men’s urinals were overflowing. That’s unacceptable. The DJ was fairly good, though nothing special, and he smoked on stage about every 30 minutes. People then smoked on the dance floor too, and security said nothing when they walked past with cigarettes. For all that, only 3 stars overall.

The prices are reasonable, and the food is simply good. I liked the nostalgic, charming decor too. It was my first visit, and I enjoyed it enough to plan a return in summer for the terrace. Definitely worth a visit.

I often visit the Burg restaurant in Ehrefriedersdorf, and the service is always top-notch. The whole team, from the chef to the waiters and waitresses, does a great job. The owner/manager/server often checks at the table whether everything is alright and satisfactory. I’m glad to leave a good tip in return, as that feels like mutual respect. I fully support the team at the Burg. To the reviewer who was very negative about the place because her children weren’t allowed to draw: could she keep them quiet for an hour or two? Apparently not with some parents today and their anti-authoritarian upbringing. If the children want to draw, they should do it at home. A restaurant is for eating, not drawing.

The place has inviting decor and is easy to look around, and the owner is happy to answer questions. For Easter there was a special menu with plenty of choices. As soon as we arrived, the children got coloring supplies, sticker books, and toys. The food was excellent, and all 13 of us were served at the same time. The price was unbeatable. We all agreed it’s highly recommended, and we’ll definitely return.
