Alte Uhrmacherei Eisenach

The location is the apartment's one real advantage, but the price feels far too high for what you get. When we arrived, there was a strong musty smell that we couldn't clear out, partly because there was no ventilation. I don't know if it's always that way. The only ground-floor window faces the street, so it can't just be left open. The shower tray leaks, and parts of the kitchen were dirty. The kitchen chairs are camping chairs. The internet was extremely slow at 0.2 Mbps. The bed is very soft and only 1.40 m wide, though that's just an observation and isn't part of my rating.

At €60 a night, this was okay overall. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby, parking is right outside, and Wartburg Castle is about a 30-minute walk away. The small apartment was clean and set in a former shop, but there isn't any outdoor seating. The living room faces a busy street at the front. At the back, the kitchen, bathroom, and walk-through bedroom have no windows. The bed was too narrow for us at 1.40 m. The kitchen had plenty of equipment, including a fridge/freezer, stove, coffee maker, kettle, and dishes.

Shops are easy to reach on foot, and the apartment is central but quiet. It's small and cozy, clean, and has everything you need, right in the heart of Eisenach.

A clean, nice little apartment. We'd be happy to stay again.
