Land- und Golfhotel Alte Fliegerschule

This is easily the worst hotel I've stayed in during my many trips around Europe. I'm in room 346 at Alte Fährhaus Golf Hotel tonight. The third floor is a converted attic, with rooms much smaller than those on the first and second floors, and there's no elevator. Carrying my luggage upstairs was a real struggle. The room was stifling when I arrived. Opening the window brought in a lot of spiders, and there are no screens. Without air conditioning, keeping the window shut makes the room unbearably hot, but opening it lets in mosquitoes. The facilities are all outdated. A friend I booked with is on the second floor, and the difference in room quality is huge. I won't stay here again.

There isn't an elevator, so be ready to haul luggage up to the second or third floor. We were here in Germany for a family reunion, and the man helping with food service was very kind. All in all, we had a very nice experience.

We found space for four or five campers in the car park, with electricity for two. Toilets and showers are accessible around the clock. The restored hotel is beautiful, and was originally built in 1938 for aviation students. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the restaurant and bar were excellent. It costs €10.00 per night, plus €3.00 for electricity. There's no water filling, toilet emptying, or grey water service.

We picked this lovely-looking stop between Poland and Belgium because Eisenach seemed picturesque and had a lot to explore. With just one night, we didn't get to see it all, and I wish we'd had another day. The staff were nice, and there's a pleasant ten-minute walk uphill with a lovely view.
