We had booked for four people from April 17-19, 2025, and let the property know in advance that we'd arrive late. They confirmed there would be two keys in a locker, one for the main entrance and one for our room. When we got there, only the room key was available, so we couldn't get through the front door. The host didn't respond despite several attempts to reach them, and we had to cancel through Booking.com support. The next morning I contacted the host again to ask about staying just one night, but was told the property was fully booked.

Our rooms were spacious, the facilities clean, and the place warm. Coffee helped brighten those November mornings. There was parking for guests with cars, and public transport was handy too: the free Rus Bus to Europa Park stops right at the door, and the bus to the train station is a few minutes' walk away. We stayed a couple of nights. It happened to be quiet while we were there, but sound carries between rooms, so noisy housemates could be a problem. We also found conflicting information: signs inside didn't match what Booking.com said. Once we arrived, we learned breakfast wouldn't be available until March 2025 because it was low season. We were also asked to leave cash on the table for a tax, even though the tax already appeared as a separate line in our booking price. That left us confused.

The location was ideal, just a short walk from Europa Park, and breakfast was complimentary. Guests had assigned tables, which looked cute. But when I sat down, I found residue on the outside of the supposedly clean plates and hair inside them. After what happened with our room, that really brought back the hygiene concern. We arrived a couple of hours after check-in, following a four-hour drive delayed by construction traffic. Our room should have been ready, but when management came by in the rain to hand over the key and explain where to go, the beds weren't made. Some bedding was in a corner and some had been thrown on the beds, even though there were three beds in one room. We wondered if we were meant to make them ourselves, but this was a hotel and the room was supposed to be in a certain state on arrival. The cleaning workers hadn't shown up when expected, so we had to take all our things back out into the rain and leave. Touching dirty sheets was disgusting. We did get an apology, but starting a paid stay that way was unacceptable. The Wi-Fi barely worked in our room and only picked up by the front door and in the shared eating area, so it seemed pointless. Without the hygiene problems, I could recommend this for a short stay. The location is great, but the cleanliness issues really put me off.

After a day at Europa Park, the room worked nicely for our group of six. Breakfast the next morning was nice too.
