Familotel Villa Waldeck

The staff are the best part, friendly and helpful, and the whole package keeps bringing us back. Every year we say we’ll go somewhere else next time, then return again. It’s worth trying to find the same offer elsewhere if you’re concerned about the price, you won’t find it. There’s plenty for children, including a large playroom for rainy days, a free babysitter, a swimming pond, and a playground behind the shaded terrace. You can have coffee and cake or a beer, use the wifi, and watch the kids play, pet goats, or get up to other child things. The terrace is brilliant. The food is excellent, made with local produce and carefully prepared. It’s modern cooking that still has a local feel. The beds are good too, and the quiet setting makes for a good holiday. It works for small, medium, or large children, and for people who enjoy good food and wine. There are attractions nearby as well, including Technikmuseum Sinsheim a few kilometers away, a theme park whose name I’ve forgotten, a wild park with stags, deer, and other wild animals, plus all the other attractions around.

We liked the breakfast a lot. It’s sort of a buffet, but well served, with plenty of cheese and fish, which made for a different kind of breakfast choice. The hotel is very nice. It seems especially suited to families, though we were there for business and still had a great stay.

We paid Euro 178 for a very nice family room with four beds, an upstairs and downstairs living area, and two balconies. The hotel is in a peaceful setting.

On the outskirts of Eppingen, it’s nicely placed for a break and some recreation. The service is good, and the location suits that purpose well.
