The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good, and it’s a nice guest house. We knew there was no air-conditioning, but at 37°C the heat made it impossible to sleep. With the great reviews, I’d expected a bit more, so I came away underwhelmed. Three stars still feels like 6 out of 10. We also had to pay extra for a baby’s cot.

The gardens are lovely, and the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. It’s a peaceful spot outside Erding, with modern, clean rooms. It seems to be family-run, and everyone on staff was very friendly. I’d happily stay again and recommend it.

The hosts were the best part for us: the woman running the hotel, her staff, grandpa, her son, and the two lovely dogs were all incredibly welcoming. We even took a day out of our travel plans to relax in our room and explore the nearby area. Therme erding is close, and there’s always a helles bier nearby in this part of the country! We’d wanted to get away from Munich and experience typical Bavarian country life, so we chose this place after reading lots of reviews. It was a pleasant surprise: luxurious, spacious, and extremely clean, a welcome change in Europe. It was snowing when we arrived, and the view from our room looked like a wallpaper. Breakfast was more than sumptuous, though the WiFi was almost non-existent. If we travel to Munich again, we know where we’ll stay.
