La Chacra Pension

The place has a lovely atmosphere, with friendly staff and a timeless style. The food was excellent, and we felt very comfortable. It’s an Indian restaurant, a little different from what I’m used to.

Lechenich's market square is only a three-minute walk away, with shops nearby and buses going in all directions. I stayed six nights through Booking.com. The mattress was good and everything was clean, but the room felt more like a hotel room than a dorm, since nothing is done in the sleeping area. There are five double rooms in the building, and my room, number 3, was okay for one person but too small for two. The windows were well glazed, so I didn’t hear the noise from the main road into town. It felt quite deserted, though. The toilet and shower were only available on the first and last day, and there was no breakfast. The restaurant attached to the building didn’t open until 6:00 PM, so there was nobody to ask for help at short notice. Make sure to ask for the Wi-Fi code right away, since the Wi-Fi itself was good. They’d left tea bags, a kettle, and two cups, but no glasses for brushing your teeth.

The rooms were very clean, and there were thoughtful extras: a kettle, coffee and tea packets, cups and spoons, plus a shelf with spare cutlery, toothbrushes, disposable razors, cotton pads, a hairdryer, and other little things you might forget. We’ll leave some cotton swabs for the next guests 😊. Smoking isn’t allowed in the rooms, but there’s a small seating area outside, with cushions, blankets, and even a thick jacket in the entryway for smokers. La Chacra is a cozy little guesthouse in the heart of Erftstadt-Lechenich. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our room had plenty of space for two, and the bathroom had a large shower. Towels, a small TV, and Wi-Fi were provided. The bakery and Lidl are both just a two-minute walk away. Parking can be a bit tricky, but you can leave the car safely in the neighboring residential area without a ticket if you’re willing to walk 5-10 minutes. The only thing I’d change in the room is the pillow. I like to sleep comfortably, and the one provided was too low, so I ended up in an awkward position. We didn’t try the restaurant because Grandma cooked for us, and we wouldn’t miss that 😅, but the menu and atmosphere looked really good. I’d happily stay here again, with my own pillow. There’s no guest parking, so you’ll need to look around a bit for a convenient spot. It’s possible to find one, though. The room was nice, and the bathroom looked newer.
