Limehome Erfurt Schmidtstedter Straße

We found the apartment clean and well equipped, and the check-in directions were easy to follow. The problem was parking: there was no space inside the courtyard. We asked the staff for help, but they wouldn't assist, so we had to leave the car on the street.

I'm already very unhappy, even though I've only just booked and haven't left home. I thought I was booking directly through the location's own portal, but only later learned it was an agent company. The booking process never mentioned that, or the online identity check I'll now have to do. I find those checks extremely difficult for reasons I won't go into, and usually avoid them. That's why I stopped using Airbnb and prefer traditional hotel check-in, where I show my physical ID. Now I'm stuck choosing between losing all my money on a non-refundable booking and trying to manage the online check despite my disabilities. Last year I wouldn't even have had the equipment needed to attempt it. How could this not be disclosed before taking a non-refundable booking? It seems my relationship with Limehome is over before it began.

There are plenty of things to see nearby, and as a place to sleep this is decent for the area. They provide enough for the number of guests, and I wouldn't mind recommending it for an overnight stay. Cleanliness was uneven, though. I found old, moldy coffee pods and stale water in the coffee maker, and urine splashes left on the floor beside the toilet. The parking lot is tiny. The neighborhood looks a bit run-down, with graffiti everywhere. I've been to St. Louis, New York, and Baltimore in the USA, which are rough, though this area feels milder by comparison.

The apartment turned out to be very clean and stylish, with everything I needed, and cost about 70% of the other options nearby. I was nervous after reading the reviews before my July stay, but it was a really nice place. It's right in the city center, just a few steps from the Aldstadt, and self check-in was convenient and intuitive, if you know how to read. I don't think the claims about the area being sketchy or unsafe are true. There are a few arabic shops around, and the people in them are friendly, like most of the arabs I've met while traveling. I'm always surprised by what people complain about :D It must be hard to run rental suites and please everyone. Respect to the owners for the clean apartments and nice place, and thanks for the arrival gift :)
