The €320 was simply lost, even though we never stayed. We had booked two nights and, after driving three hours, found the roads by the Moselle flooded. The hotel suggested another route, so we set off again, but the radio warned that Cochem could flood in the coming hours. We turned around and drove the three hours home. That felt like the sensible choice, since I doubt my car insurance would have covered anything happening in a flooded area. We called the hotel to explain. They said they would ask Mrs. Pollmanns whether we could get a voucher and get back to us. When I called the next day, I was told that because 23 of the 24 rooms had arrived, there would be no voucher. Very friendly and commercial of them.

Breakfast had plenty to choose from, though I would have liked more pastries. Our room and ensuite bathroom were spacious, and there was free parking right in front. A small fridge in the room would have been a nice extra. We had a great stay.

The restaurant had such lovely decor and a great atmosphere, and the service was good too. The food was superb, and the wine was too, obviously!

There was lots of room in both the bedroom and the bathroom, including the shower. The beds were really good, and the breakfast buffet had a wide range of choices.

The food was good, but the dinner service left me very unhappy. The waitress got our order wrong and kept saying it was our mistake, without offering any way to fix HER mistake.
