Mercure Hotel Frankfurt Eschborn Helfmann-Park

Mr. Bilal at the bar was professional, very helpful, and nice to chat with. The hotel itself is fairly new and well maintained, in a quiet neighborhood that’s easy to reach by car. The train station is within walking distance, so going into Frankfurt city center is convenient. I’d recommend staying here.

The dinner was the letdown. It began with cold shredded carrots and cabbage in a light, lemony dressing, the sort of thing you could make at home in under ten minutes. The main was beef stew with boiled potato, cauliflower, and broccoli. Not the worst dinner I’ve had, but Mercure Hotel, you can do better than stew and boiled vegetables. I make better stew at home in a slow cooker. Dessert was one scoop of vanilla ice cream over a couple of grapes with seeds and a couple of peach slices. Kids could do a better job. It wasn’t horrible, but it was the lowest bar I’ve experienced at a hotel restaurant. I believe Mercure can do better. The room was nice and clean, though a little below average in size without feeling claustrophobic. The window was fine, nothing to complain or compliment. The bed had good firmness and was clean, but the blanket was below average. It did the job in September, though it might be a problem in colder winter weather. The bathroom was clean, including the toilet, and felt nice overall. The water pressure was strong, which is what you want, not a trickle. The shampoo and soap were decent, nothing to brag about.

For a low price, I’d say it’s acceptable, but I expected better room condition from an Accor Mercure. There were visible stains and scratches all over, so the place felt worn. If you’re particular about cleanliness, expect some unpleasant surprises. Beyond that, I had no major complaints. The staff were friendly, the air conditioning worked well, the room was quiet, and the location was convenient. Housekeeping and maintenance could both improve, though I can’t say the issue is entirely their fault. Management may be cutting corners in those areas.

We found the beds comfortable and the hotel spotless. What stood out most was how kind and helpful the bar staff and receptionist were. We arrived just as the bar was closing after a long drive, and they still made sure we could get a drink.
