The room was €72, and I was given a larger one without asking. It had plenty of space and the basics, including a table and seat, TV, desk and chair, plus a kettle for instant coffee or tea. The bathroom was okay, though the raised shower tray seems uncomfortable, especially for older guests. I also still find hotel carpet dated. We were in Eschweiler for a training course at F.W. Löbbe Heating and Cooling Systems, and there aren’t many places to stay in this small town. I understand this B&B Hotel used to be a Best Western. The seven-digit code you have to enter on the door handle to get into the room felt like overkill. Breakfast was simple. The bill listed €11 for food and €1.90 for drinks, supposedly because of different tax rates, though both were taxed at 19%. Who has breakfast for €12.90? It felt like a revenue model, as I’ve noticed at other hotels too.

The hotel entrance is partly blocked by construction at the moment. Rooms are comfortable. In the morning, they offer coffee, but no breakfast.

We spent a few nights here after the apartment we’d booked turned into a nightmare. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue was the fan in our room, which was really noisy.

Arnold at reception made a stressful stay much easier. He was warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful from the moment we arrived, and his professionalism really stood out. We stayed two nights while our car was broken down nearby. The hotel is a short walk from the town center, and our room was clean, spacious, and cozy. There wasn’t a travel cot, but the double bed was big and comfortable enough for all three of us, including our toddler, to sleep well.
