The hotel was really nice and clean, though it got extremely hot on the top floor, even overnight. It had been 40 degrees outside that day, though. The owner is a lovely Greek lady, and there’s a nice Greek restaurant on the ground floor. Around 11 in the evening, when I think it was already closed, a Greek guy still made three gyros for us. They were very, very good. I definitely recommend the restaurant, at least the gyros.

The one thing missing is Wi-Fi. Don’t expect to work in your room after dinner or check your email before breakfast. LIEBE MYKONOSLER! WIFI! BITTE BITTE! DANN WERDE ICH SIE UEBER DEN GRUENEN KLEE LOBEN ! ! ! Otherwise, the rooms are clean and quiet, with everything you could want. The toiletries are good, and the shower is an absolute car wash, meant as high praise. The proprietor is friendly, the neighborhood is peaceful, and breakfast is generous, varied, and good quality. The attached restaurant serves very good food in huge portions. In good weather, it’s a pleasant walk from the hotel to a railway station with frequent service, and there’s a bus stop just a few steps away with buses on many routes. If you’re visiting Eschweiler, stay here. For Aachen, it also works if you’re up for figuring out the regional rail line and its German timetables.

I stayed here during a visit to the local Christmas market. The hotel is well placed for both the bus stops and the railway station.
