Art Hotel Körschen

For a three-star hotel at this price, I was really impressed. In Germany, places at this rate can be terrible or good, and this one was excellent. Our large room faced the rear, so it stayed quiet, though it was much too hot and hard to sleep in. The room itself was very clean, and it's about a ten-minute walk from the station. The staff were very friendly, and there was free bottled water in the basement. They left a nice box of Lindt chocolates in the room, gave us a beer on the first night, and a chocolate bar when we left. Breakfast was fine as long as it was included in the price.

The service was great, and the breakfast was a good deal at 12€ for a three-star hotel. It's on a busy central street near the DB railway, but you don't hear the trains.

A small, three-star sort of hotel with kind front desk staff and a basic breakfast. The bed was good, and the small bathroom was fine, though the closet was small too. It's okay if you just need somewhere to rest and sleep. HauptBahnhof Essen is only three or four blocks away.

The room was spacious and cosy, and the staff were nice. Breakfast was small but tasty and more than enough. WiFi worked, though it was a bit slow, around 12mbit/s down and 1mbit/s up in the room.
