The restaurant was very good, and breakfast the next morning had an impressive range of choices. We were greeted warmly on arrival with a complimentary drink and chocolate for the kids, and the staff were efficient, kind, and helpful throughout. Parking on site was convenient. We had a comfortable night in a spacious, well-equipped room that worked well for two adults and two small children. The attractive hotel is in a quiet spot but has easy motorway access, which suited our overnight stop on a road trip. It also has a car park and beer garden. A great find, and we’d definitely stay again.

8/10
The rooms were neat and clean, and the prices felt good for these times. The restaurant and breakfast menu were even better, with a super breakfast and a nice welcome of free beer and chocolate. One disappointment: the bathroom’s glass door was missing, with signs that it had broken. Nobody mentioned it beforehand. We only stayed one day, so didn’t feel it was worth complaining, though I felt for the women cleaning up with water going everywhere. If we’d been told upfront, it would have been an easy 5/5.

The restaurant downstairs is excellent, though there isn’t much space, so keep that in mind. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, with different layouts to suit different needs, and some floors have fridges stocked with drinks. The owners and staff are extraordinarily friendly. A free welcome beer at check-in is a lovely touch. I’ll definitely be back!

We went for a rehearsal dinner, had a good time, and would come back for a casual meal. The beer selection is great, as you’d expect. Sparkling wine isn’t really the thing to order here, though that wasn’t a surprise. If you’re there on a Thursday, try the pork knuckle. It’s delicious.

The rooms were clean, tidy, and comfortable. We asked for roses on the bed, and they arranged it beautifully, then upgraded us to a suite. A lovely stay, with wonderfully personal, genuine service that felt worthy of five stars.
