The hotel sits in a peaceful area that feels very serene, with nice spots nearby for walking the dog. Our room was lovely, thoughtfully set up for comfort and a good night's sleep. Staff are there from 7 am to 3 pm, so there's no room service or bar, but a fridge has beer and soft drinks with an honesty box. We hadn't stayed somewhere arranged this way before, and we really enjoyed it.

A handy place for an overnight business stay. Parking on site is free, and the self-service check-in terminal gives you your key. The compact single room was just large enough to be comfortable, with modern furnishings and bathroom. Breakfast buffet was good.

This is my second stay here, and the rates are very affordable. Breakfast is amazing, definitely don't miss it. The hotel is on a quiet street under big trees, with a forest and park across the road and walking trails; restaurants and the main street are within walking distance. The staff are so friendly and helpful. After dental work I needed ice and extra pillows, and they brought them promptly with a smile. Marina, a young woman on staff, was especially helpful.

For business trips to Essen, this is my usual pick. A quaint, quality place, with warm, cosy rooms, kind staff and an amazing breakfast.

There are lots of restaurants nearby, about a 15-minute walk or even less, and there's good nightlife around too. On arrival the staff were really nice, and the place was clean and tidy. I liked that there were two bottles of sparkling water. The room felt a bit too small for two, and the lights didn't work. The main entrance closes at 10 pm, so after that you need to use the side door.
