If you’re in Essen for more than a week, this is worth considering for the price. All the rooms have unlimited free Wi-Fi, plus a kettle and microwave, and you’re literally staying above a Lidl supermarket. It’s about a 40-minute walk from the central train station, though a trolley car stop is very close and gets you there in seven minutes.
We spent four nights here. The first room smelled awful and had a damp problem, but thankfully we were moved to another one the following day. Even so, we were charged the full price for the stay, despite having spent that first night in a room where we couldn’t sleep or even put our bags on the floor. I wouldn’t recommend it.
A really nice hotel style. The keybox made everything simple, and the stay was easy.
Staying here was really bad. Whenever you call reception to ask for anything, all they say is sorry. I wouldn’t try this sorry hotel.
A good place, with the fastest Wi-Fi internet in the area.
