The staff were nice and the beds comfortable, but the hotel has serious limits for accessibility. There are no accessible rooms, and every room is reached by a narrow staircase whose step depth changes as you go higher. A wheelchair can't get to any room. If you have mobility issues, don't book unless someone can carry you upstairs. There are no rooms with a private bathroom or kitchen, and some rooms have blackout curtains while others have none. There's no private entrance, and the building definitely isn't soundproof.

The staff are kind and always around if you need them, and breakfast is a nice free buffet. Rooms are good, with comfortable beds and charging points right beside them. There's free wifi, a lockable drawer, a wardrobe, a really good bathroom, and an even better kitchen. It's a very nice place, with an outdoor area too, and the price is good.

I booked through the official website, where I could choose both the bed and room. I selected a single bed in a mixed room and paid a little extra compared with the female room I usually prefer. Because of a system error, I got an upper bed in the same mixed room category instead. I'd never complained about getting an upper bed in a hostel before when it was my own choice to save a little money and take what was offered. This time I had booked a single bed, so it wasn't the same thing. It felt like ordering A and being given B because they're in the same price category. When I asked about it, the owner, not a staff member, was extremely rude. I said that if a single bed wasn't available, I'd move to the cheaper female room and get the difference back. I was fine with the upper bed in that case. He refused and treated me as though I was just trying to get a discount. Since it was already 9.30pm, I moved to a much more expensive hotel and asked only for a refund. He wouldn't refund me. He said, "You sleep in the upper bed. you paid only 26.5 Euros and I dont wanna spend my time for only 26.5 euros". I don't know if I sounded rude on the call, but I don't think I did. He shouted, and these are the words I remember: "do you wanna discount?", "life is fword, You sleep in the upper bed!", and "No refund". He said "fword" at least two or three times. If he'd explained the system problem kindly, maybe I could have accepted it, since it was late and I was tired. This wasn't about the money for me. I just wanted what I booked. I don't think it should be difficult to get through one night in a hostel, but if something goes wrong, I don't think the owner will try to solve it. He seemed to see guests as people paying around 30 euros, and didn't want to spend time over that. I paid less because I got a last deal discount when I booked. I'm still curious why he wouldn't refund me and cancel the booking over such a small amount for him, only 26 euros. I'm not saying the life is fword. Otherwise, you are :) Maybe the owner remembers what happened differently, but I'm not lying about what he said. If the hostel assigns beds randomly, it should change the system so guests know they're getting a random bed and can choose whether to accept it. I'd recommend checking some of the reviews on booking .com. I wouldn't complain about the hostel itself, since it's cheap. I'd just say this cheap hostel offers cheap qualities :)

The stairs creak a lot, so you hear everyone moving around, and the kitchen was repugnant. The bathrooms were questionable at best. There are no accessible rooms: all four full floors are reached by narrow stairs, with bathrooms on the landings. They advertise accessibility but don't have the means to provide it. Blackout curtains aren't in every room, and some rooms have no curtains at all.
