Essing is so beautiful, and the rooms are nice and in a great location. The owner and manager of the pension was kind enough to give me her last room after a long day of riding during high season. My wife and I have now returned twice because she made us feel so welcome. Vielen Dank!

The host was lovely, and the room and bathroom were clean. Breakfast was exceptional. I wish I could have stayed longer and hope to return.

We spent a wonderful week at the guesthouse for a family vacation in the Altmühl Valley. The hosts were always friendly and had a kind word for us. Everything was very clean, and breakfast was ample. We stayed in the small apartment. Its bedroom faces the backyard, so it was completely peaceful and quiet, and the adjoining balcony was a lovely place to sit. Thank you for such a lovely week.

The owners were friendly, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was good, and the place was pleasantly quiet. It’s a great base for excursions around the Altmühl Valley, Kehlheim, and the surrounding area.

Dear Holzapfel Family, We had such a warm welcome that we felt at home right away, and wished we could stay longer. The suite and the large room for our daughter were perfect. Essing is beautifully situated on the Altmühl River, with excellent restaurants and cafes nearby. The café right on the water is fantastic too. We’d love to come back. Best regards :-)
