I was there for work, and the room was quiet at night with a comfortable bed. The bedroom was clean, though cold, which is nice for sleeping; the bathroom was too cold as well, and could use more heat. The shower had one dispenser for body and hair, but I’d prefer separate ones. Breakfast was great, with loads of sweet and savory choices, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, milk, and cheese. The place is nice and well organized, and the reception staff were lovely and friendly. At 99 € a night plus breakfast, I’d have expected more room extras, like slippers, chocolate, a minibar, a mini sewing set, and small bottles of shampoo, body soap, and conditioner.

Room 102 was very quiet and comfortable, just right for a good night’s rest. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and made me feel at home right away. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and fresh food. The location worked especially well for CTDI colleagues needing to get to Malsch or Karlsruhe-Hagsfeld, both less than 15 minutes away by car. A great mix of comfort, convenience, and hospitality. I’ll be glad to come back to Hotel Watthalden in Ettlingen.

For around 80€ for a double room with single occupancy, the price was fine. The bed was comfortable, and housekeeping had left a little sweet surprise on the pillow. I really liked the breakfast selection, and it was handy having a gym on the upper level. You can park right outside or in the garage underneath the hotel. I’d stay again if I’m in the area. Good option for a short stay if you want a quiet, comfortable hotel with a nice range at breakfast.
