Ferienhaus Uklei

We’ve stayed at the holiday home on Lake Uklei twice now, bringing our two dogs both times. It’s a great base for outings on foot or by car, and the Baltic Sea is close by. The apartment had everything we needed. We booked a larger one for the dogs, with its own bedroom, and the view of Lake Uklei from the living room was beautiful. The area is quiet at night. We live somewhere peaceful too, but here we couldn’t hear a thing. One time I even heard an owl in a tree just outside our window. I loved walking the dogs around Lake Uklei in the morning while my husband made breakfast. It was such a lovely start to the day. We had a really relaxing stay and would happily return. The views of Lake Keller are magnificent, and everything was very clean, though the furnishings are more traditional. There are about 20 attractive little apartments, with one or two rooms and two or four beds. Each has a shower room and a kitchenette in the hallway with a sink, two-ring electric hob, and small fridge. Ground-floor units have terraces opening onto the lawn beside the house. The first- and second-floor apartments have roomy loggias, each furnished with two cushioned chairs, a small table attached to the railing, and a parasol. The house is in a very quiet spot between Lake Uklei and Lake Keller. You can rent from the friendly owner, Ms. Scheer, or through Booking.com. I’d suggest contacting Ms. Scheer directly, and the price for what you get is good. It’s handy to have a car or bike to get there and leave. Eutin has a train station, and a taxi from there may be an option. The Jagdschlößchen (hunting lodge) on Lake Uklei is close by and is a popular civil wedding venue.

Mrs. Scheer greeted us warmly. She’s lovely and has a good sense of humor. Our ground-floor apartment was clean and had everything we needed, with a comfortable bed and a fantastic view of Lake Kellersee. Dogs are welcome here. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we’ll be back!
