Gold is a nice spot for breakfast, right by the dike, with a view of the sea and kitesurfers passing by. The buffet is full of good local food, including different breads and rolls and specialties displayed in a glass fridge that the staff somehow keep refilling. The team was great, and everything tasted delicious and felt high quality.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and everything at the buffet was fresh. It cost €16.50, but since you can eat as much as you like, I thought it was worth it. Great breakfast.

The café has a warm, inviting feel, and you can tell a lot of care goes into it. I especially liked finding such a varied, creative range of vegan dishes. The food was a real highlight, from lovingly prepared meals to fish sandwiches that looked as good as they tasted. The Achterndiek Gold Hotel and Café on Fehmarn also has stunning Baltic Sea views, especially at sunrise. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it for time on Fehmarn, whether you’re staying or just stopping by the café.
