There’s not much to do in the village, and the hotel has no restaurant or bar. The old train is the other drawback: it clatters past really noisily about every 15 minutes, even in the middle of the night or very early morning. If you enjoy that kind of thing, it may be fine.

I spent part of the evening in the beer garden, by the basin with the Koi Carps, enjoying a glass of wine. That was after Ruslan, the owner, went out of his way to sort things out when I realized I’d messed up my booking. He quickly cleared a room for me so I wouldn’t be left without anywhere to stay. Outstanding service and surroundings.

It’s handy being close to the station, though the trains can be quite loud and there aren’t many shops nearby, which is a bit inconvenient. The staff were friendly and ready to help with any problems. A fantastic family-run hotel!
