The homemade cakes are lovely, and the service is very friendly. They wore beautiful Dirndl despite the heat. The roads getting there can be quite narrow, but it's worth the trip.

The café is lovingly decorated, and the staff are very friendly. Sometimes the food takes a little while, but it's fantastic. The cakes and Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) are incredibly delicious.

We were so impressed by yesterday's lunch that we're coming back today with our wives. The dishes carried past us looked delicious and came in more than ample portions. I'm especially keen to try the Kaiserschmarrn. The homemade cakes, tarts, yeast dumplings, strudels, and other treats in the display case were all convincing, too. We only found this gem because the road through Fischbachau was closed, and stopped in on a whim. The menu is small but more than enough for a farm café. Talking with the owner, we noticed that simple dishes that had been forgotten for years are turning up on menus again. Here, my companion had Pichelsteiner stew with lamb from the farm, while I ordered goulash soup. Both were sensational, full of flavor and aroma. The homemade farmhouse bread was fantastic as well, so I took half a loaf home. It's a hit with hikers, cyclists, and people touring by car or motorcycle. If you drive, parking is limited.
