The hostess lent me hiking maps, and the balcony had a fantastic view. Since I'd walked there, they even put together an evening snack for me. I didn't have enough cash, so they kindly gave me a two-euro discount.

The hosts were really helpful and explained the area and Bavarian culture. You stay under the same roof as their family, and the furnishings are simple but comfortable. The house is quite noisy, so bring earplugs if noise bothers you. There's no Wi-Fi.

The location is hard to beat, with many attractions within easy walking distance, so a car isn't necessary. Our room was spotless and the beds very comfortable, and the breakfast was fantastic and more than plentiful. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, and gave us excellent excursion tips. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Zitherklaus.

It's a very quiet location, but everything is easy to get to from here. The family is so hospitable, and if you're after a relaxing stay, this is the place. We'll be back soon.
