We booked through Airbnb and communication was easy and consistent throughout. The location was good too, close to a bakery, kiosk, and bus stop, with the city center within walking distance.

Really great.

We were ready to make the beds when we arrived and found blue plastic covers under the fitted sheets, like thin, noisy garbage bags, apparently to guard against bloodstains. Disgusting. The landlord called it a hygiene measure, wouldn't help us get clean bedding, and said he didn't care about a review later. He has more than 60 apartments, so apparently losing one doesn't matter to him. There was dirt built up for generations under the sofa, where I had to fish out my dropped headphones. They also pressure you to reserve and pay for parking before arrival, even though there's a huge free public lot right next to the house. I'm warning people about this landlord. Booking.com should step in, or they risk losing loyal customers. Never again!

The only reason this gets a second star is the incredibly low price. The bedrooms weren't clean, with hairballs on supposedly washed sheets, and the bathroom was dirty too. A missing tile in the shower tray had been "fixed" with loads of duct tape. There were three bedrooms in our apartment and all were occupied, but everyone shared one bathroom and kitchen, making mornings feel like a madhouse. This isn't really a holiday apartment, more a hostel being marketed as one. Flensburg is generally affordable, so there are better options. It would also be better for local residents, ethically, since the landlord says he owns around 60 apartments, which isn't good for the housing market.
