Fruerlund

We ended up checking in, but my parents and I won't stay here again. Because we had booked for two but arrived as three with the baby, the man refused to let us stay. We only went in without the baby to shower and look around. He had no key ready and seemed to think he'd keep my money without providing the room. First he tried to check my credit card, but both my name and card were on the reservation. Before that, after saying we could choose new dates, he had left our phone number with someone who was supposed to call. Nobody called, and the Booking request was denied. On check-in day he claimed that person was away on vacation for two weeks, even though the request had already been turned down. I suspect he handles Booking himself and invented the other person. He gave me the choice of cancelling for only 10% back or waiting two weeks in hope of changing dates. I chose to keep the room. The whole thing began when my mother broke her back and couldn't travel. I live nearby and had booked the hotel for my parents to visit for my daughter's first birthday. Booking offered no way to cancel or change dates. I tried contacting the hotel through Booking and got no reply. I went in person to explain; the man, who I suspect is the owner, couldn't speak English, but even with my poor German I understood him to say I should send a request in the app. Again, no reply. I returned with my German girlfriend, and the same man said we could pick new dates. Rooms here cost 100€+ despite feeling like 50-70€ rooms, and breakfast at 14€ was much too expensive. The staff lied to my face. I recommend choosing one of Flensburg's much better options.

A cozy, quiet place that worked really well for a short holiday. The atmosphere was cheerful, and the rooms were clean. We had a warm stay.

We'd definitely come back. It was a lovely, quiet area for dog owners, with beautiful places to walk, and our room was clean and nice. The bed was very hard, though, and a mattress topper would make a big difference. Breakfast was expensive, so we skipped it. We were travelling as two people with a dog and needed somewhere to stop after crossing the border. Traffic made us late, and since reception closes at 22:00 we nearly missed it. I'd prefer reception to be open 24 hours, but when we called they were willing to wait for us. Really nice service.

The apartments have a cooker, but no pots to use with it. Room service told us to wait for the boss when we raised it. When the boss arrived, he kindly upgraded us to a bigger room, though that one still had no pots.
