Holiday Inn Frankfurt Airport by IHG

My team and I were in the Gateway Gardens area for a professional training course, and the team at Holiday Inn Frankfurt – Gateway Gardens helped make our stay pleasant, relaxing, and perfectly organized. Everyone was welcoming, professional, and attentive. A special thank you to Garcia, who was remarkable, highly professional, and always available. We’re also grateful to Apostolia, Hapun, Hüseyin, and Chakira for their kindness, professionalism, and excellent service. Many thanks to the whole team. We had an excellent stay.

We got to our room within an hour of checking out of the noisy hotel by Frankfurt’s main train station, where we hadn’t been able to sleep. Reception and check-in were efficient, and we were lucky to find a room at this Holiday Inn at Frankfurt airport at the last minute. On the 5th floor facing the airport terminal, our room was so quiet it was hard to believe it looked straight onto the terminal. There was no airplane or traffic noise, and it felt like we were being coddled. The hotel is a very good, moderately priced option within walking distance of Terminal 2. The room was very clean and in great repair, hard to believe it’s eight years old. The bed and linens were comfortable, I slept like a log, and the shower the next morning was wonderful with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was included in our rate, with the usual continental options and hot dishes. No one was by the hot food area, but when I asked, they made us very nice omelets. We took an easy walk to the terminal to stretch our legs before our flights back to the US. Taxis were also waiting outside the hotel.

Charging a vehicle is listed as an option, but it only works with Tesla, which is a bad choice. The self check-in and checkout system is another problem. Staff have apparently been directed to make you use it, and it takes a long time, with queues and plenty of frustration. There are lots of other hotels, so I’d pick one of those. This place isn’t worth the hassle.

I checked in at 16.01 for one night, and both the arrival and departure receptionists were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast staff were great too, greeting guests with smiles. The woman at the egg station was especially amazing. My only complaint is the mini gym. It was quite messy and felt like nobody had cleaned it in a long time.
