Hotel Grand Corner

We found the radiators weren’t working after checking in on Saturday, December 28th. Between 8:00 PM and 11:30 PM we were in the lobby and told the hotel, but nobody took care of it. We decided to leave, and they wouldn’t refund our cash payment. The receptionist said they weren’t the owner and that we’d have to ask the owner for our money, even though we had paid at reception. No one had told us the heating system was out of service. For a hotel we already found unreliable, how are we supposed to trust its security cameras? :) They need a polite, trained, professional person running the lobby. Tourists, please don’t stay here!!!!!!! This hotel lies, leaves guests in a bad situation, gives incomplete information to mislead them, and tries to dodge responsibility.

The desk guys were friendly and check-in was easy. I hadn’t read the reviews before booking, but started worrying on the way over after seeing all the complaints. Honestly, it’s not that bad, you get what you pay for. The only issue for me was the smell; I opened the windows and it was already fading. I think some people leaving negative reviews expect a five-star hotel on a motel budget.

The rooms are spacious, though they could use a bit more cleaning, and the staff might be more welcoming. The location is pretty central. There’s no tea in the room, just some awful coffee, and they don’t have anywhere to leave your bags, even for a couple of hours. They send you to the lockers at the central train station 🙄

The location was okay, with shops nearby, and the only time the staff were useful was when I returned for something I’d left in my room after checking out. During our stay, though, neither of our two rooms had air conditioning or Wi-Fi. I asked about the Wi-Fi every day and got told it would work after a reset, but it never did. Our chocolate was melting, so we asked to use a fridge and were told no. Once, when we told a waiter at the restaurant next door where we were staying, he laughed and said the hotel wasn’t good at all.
