INNSIDE by Melia Frankfurt Ostend

The rooms are comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully laid out, and the staff are kind and attentive from the moment I arrive. I often come to Frankfurt for work, and staying at Innside Frankfurt has been a pleasure every time. I've also eaten at the hotel on a few occasions, and the food was delicious and high quality. I always look forward to coming back for the restful stay and genuine hospitality.

The room was okay, but the service made this a very disappointing stay. I was there for several nights in February. Even though the hotel had taken full payment, I was barred from the bar and restaurant for my entire stay because of a “private function,” and I wasn't allowed to use the stairs either. When I complained, the receptionist used a very unpleasant German word about me to a colleague. Awful experience.

I've been coming back whenever I visit Frankfurt since 2021. The rooms are spacious and well organized, and the ones facing the courtyard are very quiet. Shraddha and her team give excellent service and do their best to sort out any problems. The location is handy too: Ostbanhof is less than 20 minutes away by train for the airport, the U-Bahn is under a five-minute walk, and Ostendstrasse S-Bahn station is under ten minutes away on foot. There's also a Rewe and DM right next door. Highly recommend it.

The room had no city view despite being advertised that way, and when I checked in the bath gel bottle was empty. There were no slippers, kettle, or proper toiletries, and the lamp didn't work. The service was no better: I asked at the counter to have the bath gel refilled and was told someone would bring it up. After waiting, I called and was told to bring the bottle downstairs myself. The person on the phone kept saying he couldn't hear me and insisted I come down, saying he was the only staff member on duty. How is that possible? For a four-star hotel under Meliá, the room upkeep and service were far below what I expected. My stay at INNSiDE Ostend by Meliá was extremely disappointing, more like a budget hostel than a proper hotel, and definitely not worth the price.
