Right in the middle of Freiamt, this café makes good coffee and tasty cake. It feels very authentically German, and if you’re walking through the Black Forest, it’s a lovely place to stop. You can get there directly by bus from Denzlingen train station.

The breakfast had a good range of choices, and the rooms were clean and a decent size. The service was friendly too.

The owner, if I’ve got that right, was attentive and very nice. I only stopped for the delicious coffee and cake, so I can’t say anything about the rooms.

We had a lovely week here, and there’s lots to do if you have a car. Downstairs there’s a supermarket with everything you need, plus a café where the owner still bakes himself. The cake was delicious! The rooms are lovely, very clean, and have a bathroom and shower. There’s also a big living room that works well for groups, with space to hang out and play games. The house is very nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d recommend the hotel too.
