The staff are really friendly and the rooms are clean, but for what you get, it felt a bit overpriced to me. I had the gourmet salad. The chicken, lettuce and vinaigrette were good, though the ready-to-serve salads underneath weren't very nice. Breakfast was standard. The fabric softener smell on the bed sheets bothered me.
4/10
The room was tiny, and there was noise late at night. We visited around the end of September and start of October, but it was still so hot at night that my husband and I sweated and couldn't sleep well. For the quality, the price is high. I wouldn't really recommend it.
2/10
This restaurant regularly hosts meetings for Germany's extreme right. Speakers such as Andreas Kalbitz, who has repeatedly expressed disrespect for human values, are given a platform there. For my friends and me, and for a number of other guests, that may matter when deciding whether to visit the Hirschen.

The curtains had holes in them. After we waited more than five minutes at the locked door, the owner finally came out with a cigarette in his mouth and couldn't speak English. Our room key didn't work either. The Cook was the only person available, and helped us call the police about our vandalized car.

Great.
