The staff were all really friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised by breakfast the next morning. The bread was fresh, and, most importantly, the coffee tasted good! It was hot outside when we arrived, but the hotel stayed nice and cool. The hotel is just outside Freiburg, with a tram stop a one-minute walk away and an easy ride into the city centre. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again.

The check-in was a little awkward because there was no reception desk. After I spoke to the woman on the doorbell, she didn't initially say she needed to call someone to open the door, so I rang again a few minutes later to find out what was happening. Apart from that, we had a nice short stay. It's close to the city and easy to reach by car or public transport.

The rooms were comfortable, and breakfast was generous with attentive service. It's a lovely, cozy hotel in the quiet neighborhood of Gunterstal, conveniently close to the tram to Freiburg, about a 15-minute ride. There's no elevator, and the tram passes nearby until late, but even as a light sleeper I didn't find it too bothersome.

The room was large and very comfortable, especially compared with other German hotels in the same price range. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was disappointing, though: quite a few condiments had expired, and the small breakfast room felt claustrophobic and awkwardly quiet. Serving breakfast in the large dining room could easily improve things.

There are lovely views from the room, and roadside parking is free. Check in before exploring town, since reception has some freebies, such as waterfall entry, that you can make use of. One of the waterfall access points is literally opposite the hotel entrance.
