The rooms are tidy, spacious and nice, and the table service is very fast. The sauna is fine to use too. It’s a very nice old country hotel, just a five-minute walk from the shopping mall. The internet is extremely slow, so checking email is hard, especially with attachments. The food is OK, though there’s a bit too much salad and only about two dishes on the menu each day. It feels like they’re imposing what we should eat.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we’ll be making the trip back from Scotland. The hotel is superb, with first-class rooms, delicious food, and an old main building full of character and tasteful charm. We highly recommend it. Our car broke down on the autobahn, so on a Saturday afternoon in June we arrived without a reservation. The hotel was full, but the owners kindly rearranged their bookings to fit us in, and we stayed for four nights. A local Mercedes garage repaired the car on Tuesday after the necessary parts arrived. When something unexpected goes wrong, it’s a joy to find people so generous. The proprietors were kind and did everything they could to help. It was a real tonic when so many people seem interested only in themselves and what they can get.

The kitchen is one of the best parts of staying here. I’ve been here for many weeks on business and have tried just about everything on the menu, and it’s all fantastic. The owners, Toni and Beate, are incredibly accommodating and make sure you have what you need for a comfortable stay. There are bicycles on site that you can borrow for the day, and Toni can suggest routes depending on what you’re interested in. I’ve stayed here several times and highly recommend booking.

My room didn’t have air conditioning, though I can’t say whether that’s true of every room. On hot days it wasn’t somewhere I wanted to spend much time, and since I run a little hot at night, I had to blast the small fan they provided. The hotel has lots of character and extremely friendly staff. It’s a great little place if you want that old-time inn feel.
