We arrived late, just as the kitchen was closing, but the staff were still helpful and friendly. They offered us pumpkin soup, which was delicious, followed by an equally good panna cotta. There’s also a good range of wines.

The restaurant has a nice range of dishes, from meat and seafood to options for kids. Everything tasted delicious, and I’d definitely recommend eating here.

Freudenberg is beautiful, and the hotel is perfectly placed for exploring. Shops and other services are all within walking distance. Everything during our stay was well organized, and the hotel was very clean. The rooms seemed recently renovated, with modern fixtures. They were large, with excellent comfortable beds and lovely linens. The shower was the usual tiny German one. There’s no air conditioning, but we didn’t need it in late June since the huge windows open. Breakfast staff in the morning were outstanding; the afternoon bar staff were only adequate. Dinner was especially good, and the food overall was incredible. We’d definitely stay again. By German hotel standards, I’d rate it four stars.

The Rinderroulade was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I had a great stay in early September and always enjoy coming back to this beautiful hotel.

The food is excellent, and the attention to detail stands out if you’re visiting from the US. Allow an extra hour for the meal, since the food takes its time, but it’s worth the wait.
