We especially enjoyed the quiet Black Forest view from the conservatory. The apartment was lovely and thoughtfully furnished, and the three of us, two adults and a baby, felt very at home. Hiking trails start right at the house, including the carefully maintained Kniebiser Heimatpfad, which really lives up to its premium-trail status. Other circular routes are easy to reach too. The landlady was pleasant and straightforward to deal with, and we’d gladly return.

Those living-room bay windows were my favorite part. I ate there, read, or watched the forest and changing weather, and with the windows open it almost felt like sitting outdoors. The forest starts just behind the house, so I saw deer several mornings. The apartment itself was roomy, bright, modern, and nicely equipped, with a washing machine too. I’m still thinking about this stay in Kniebis and would love to come back.

We got around easily without a car, thanks to the good bus links to places like the National Park Center and Freudenstadt. Hikes also start from the apartment, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Inside, it was cozy and beautifully decorated, especially the pair of armchairs looking toward the forest. Ms. Börner was warm and very courteous, and we felt so comfortable there. We’d happily return! :)

The apartment is modern, tastefully done, and wonderfully quiet right by the forest. Getting the keys was simple to arrange by email or phone, and replies came really quickly. The Kniebis Hut, ski lift, and cross-country ski stadium are all a short walk away, so it suits families who like being outdoors. It’s well worth visiting in winter too.
