The service was really well qualified, and there was a very good wine list. In the lovely traditional wood-panelled room, everything felt warm and quaint. The food was excellent too, especially the venison and “Schupfnudeln”, cooked to perfection.

We had lunch here as late as 4 p.m., and dogs are allowed (!?). It's a great base for exploring the Northern Black Forest. The rooms are large and comfortable, and very quiet at night, with none facing the street, which barely has traffic then. The restaurant is superb, well above average, with dishes that are nicely presented and inventive.

The sauna and swimming pool were great, and breakfast was good too. We stayed ten days in a category E room, which was beautiful and had a nice view from its big balcony. We only had dinner once, as we were a bit disappointed.

We were a group of four on our first trip to the region and stayed three nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the hotel. We didn't eat at the restaurant because we had a family event elsewhere locally, but breakfast was excellent and the restaurant always seemed nicely busy. We hope to come back and properly explore the area, and we'd definitely stay here again.

We came for dinner rather than staying at the hotel. The place was elegant, and both the food and service were excellent. It's a very nice hotel too, and I'd gladly return.
