Regenbogen Hotel

The worst part was when I was in the bathroom and the door suddenly opened. I still don't know who did it. Earlier, the owner had trouble assigning me a room because his computer wasn't working and he'd forgotten the password for my reservation. I waited half an hour while he looked for it. The room was dirty, with no towels, so I had to bring my own. He also wouldn't let me have visitors, and I had to pay 20 euros for that. There was noise constantly, so I couldn't sleep properly. It was a terrifying night, and I wouldn't go back.

Finding another place was difficult because a large event had left very little available. I ended up booking a replacement hotel in Saarbrücken, which adds a 25-minute train commute each day. I only learned this morning, after my long journey, that my room reservation had been cancelled yesterday at 9 pm. I tried calling this morning but couldn't reach anyone.

The price was completely exorbitant, and even the outside of the hotel didn't look any better. My parents had stayed there a few days earlier, so I'd seen the place already, and it was a disaster. When we arrived, we were denied the room we'd booked because it hadn't been cleaned. The owner said he couldn't control his staff, and repeated inquiries got no response. We tried several times to call the number they provided, with no luck. I absolutely can't recommend this hotel. Stay away.

The area around it isn't appealing, with a busy road and train tracks close by. The rooms I saw felt like a hostel's, and the general standard was very average. I didn't pay myself, so I can't say what it costs. It has a bit of a communist-era atmosphere, and a few of the rooms had truly brothel-like decor.
