Hotel Christine

Our attic room had such a low bathroom ceiling that it wasn’t possible to stand while showering. Even so, I’d definitely book again and recommend the place. The hotel is on a quiet street, within walking distance of the old town and the lake. The service felt more personal than any I’ve had in a hotel: everyone was friendly and attentive, breakfast was delicious, and the chef checked in with guests. We felt at home and like queens at the same time.

The hotel was nice and clean, and the couple hosting us were very polite. It’s not far from the main area of Füssen and very close to Neuschwansteinstraße Castle. We’d have liked the rooms more if they had air conditioning. The breakfast was among the best we had in Europe.

Anna was a real pleasure to meet. She handled several roles at the hotel, helped translate when needed, and always came over at breakfast with a smile and something nice to talk about. She’s a real asset. The owner takes great pride in the place and knows how to look after guests. He’s also a fabulous award-winning chef, and the daily breakfast exceeded our expectations: a freshly prepared hot main course, all the sides, wonderful flavor, and magnificent presentation. The hotel is ideally located near the famous Neuschwanstein Castle and Harburg Castle, and a quaint nature trail takes you on foot to the old town of Fussen, which is a must-see. My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Christine, and we plan to return.

The owner takes pride in breakfast, which he calls a “personal buffet.” The warm items change each day, and there are so many delicious sweet and savory choices that we couldn’t finish them all. We could easily skip lunch after filling up. We stayed two nights with four adults in a bright, sunny, very clean place, with super comfortable beds. It’s close to downtown Fuessen and King Ludwig's castles. I highly recommend Hotel Christine, and it’ll be our first choice when we return to Fuessen.
